WSOP 1500 NLH

There weren't a ton of interesting hands in my 1500 NLH today. I was one of the last alternates and got into the tournament 2 hours after it started. In the first orbit I got QQ, got all in preflop against JJ, and won. A little while later I won a race and was up to about 6k. Right before the dinner break I won another race with AQs vs 77 and was up to 9500. After the dinner break I played a sort of interesting hand:

- 200-400-50, blind on blind I limped with 99 and the BB checked. The flop was JJ2, I bet 500, and he called. The turn was a 4, I checked, he bet 1200, I raised enough to put him all-in, and he mucked. Not long after that:

- Same blinds, seemingly tight MP makes it 1300, I make it 4000 in SB with AQo, he jams for not much more, I call, he has...KTo? I win and am above 15k. Not too long after that:

- 300-600-75, MP who has me covered makes it 1600. He has made this same raise three times in the last two orbits but only recently came to the table so I don't know anything else about him. Adam Friedman, who has like 60k or something ridiculous, calls. He has been calling a lot of raises and taking flops. I have QQ on the button and 15k. I decide to move in. The initial raiser tanks for a while and I decide he either has AK or JJ. He finally calls. The way he calls somehow makes me think he has KK. Adam folds 55 face up. The other guy has KK. The board comes TT5xT and I'm out. I think there's something to be said for just calling here and I would prefer that option if I had more chips but with 15k in my stack and 4850 out there, I don't see how I can do anything other than move in.

I saw Ellix Powers today. He was wearing a shirt that said, "I made him so mad he called me with a JACK HIGH!" That was my moment of zen for the day.

Going to find a live game.

I like the move, especially with the amount of chips in the pot, though I am a little surprised that he took so long to call you with KK. That's how it goes.

Seems likely that they were all going in post-flop anyway, no?

Think of the agony Adam Friedman would have experienced had he called (which he never would have done, but it's fun to think about anyway) - flops a boat only to lose to a brutal river. Yikes!
